Cervo, listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, is located in the province of Imperia between Nice and Genoa. Certified among "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy" for years, Cervo has kept intact its very original characteristics of a medieval village on the sea, protected by sixteenth-century towers and walls and surrounded by green hills. The historic center is accessible only on foot and has been preserved with its centuries-old buildings and its cobbled alleys where there are workshops of artisans and artists. The coast is characterized by the presence of small bathing establishments; but the coast also offers free and discrete beaches and cliffs, where you only hear the voice of the sea, a sea with always clear waters and a seabed rich in algae and fish and starfish. Upstream of the town, where you can find vestiges of past eras, the hills are rich in pine forests and olive groves, crossed by silent paths where the air is fragrant and clean. At the table, then, Cervo has remained serenely faithful to the Mediterranean diet: here the oil is still made by applying the ancient technique of cold pressing of the olives, the wine is produced with the typical grapes of the region (pigato and vermentino) and the dishes they are cooked with the catch of every morning and produced at km 0. Its cultural heritage is remarkable: Cervo is dominated by a medieval castle, the ancient home of the Marquises of Clavesana, which today hosts art exhibitions and the permanent Ethnographic Museum of Western Liguria. As for the events, Cervo is known for the International Chamber Music Festival which has been taking place for more than forty years and where the major artists of Europe offer concerts in the moonlight, to be experienced in rapt silence in the enchanted Square of the Church of the Corallini. The Festival and the renowned musical academies have earned Cervo the title of Borgo della Musica.
